BFI Education. The British Film Institute's office of Education produces various print and media resources which are made available for classroom use.

Black Film Center Archives--Indiana University. A repository of films and related materials by and about African Americans." Its holdings list of over 700 films and video cassettes, as well as archival photographs. Canadian Association of Media Education Associations (CAMEO). Founded in 1992 as an association of Canadian media literacy groups from across Canada. The goal of CAMEO is to advocate, promote and develop media literacy in Canada.

Commercialism in Education Research Unit. Investigates the use of advertising and product promotion in schools.

Center on Blacks and the Media (CBM) Monitors the Black image in the media, is an independent, nonprofit, research-based, change-oriented center. CBM offers tools and techniques to understand media issues, to correct imbalances in the media, and to empower the Black community in relation to the media.
Center for Democracy and Technology. Offers resources and information about the state of free speech and civil liberties on the Internet.

Center for Educational Priorities. An advocacy group with the mission to bring greater national attention to the priorities of education in all areas of American life, especially in the media. Some topics: New Studies on Television Violence: Children and Telecom Act of 1996: What are the key issues in the debate on kids' TV?

Center for Electronic Arts. A resource for media and production. The Center serves students of electronic media literacy and technology, and public interest organizations who use the media facilities.

Center for History and New Media. The Center is a collaboration between George Mason University, the American Social History Project, and the Center for Media and Learning at the City College of New York, and attempts to respond to the way new media are changing the teaching and studying of history.

Center for Media Education. The Center's two current projects are the Campaign for Kids' TV, aimed at improving the quality of children's television, and the Future of Media Project, dedicated to fostering a public interest vision for the new media and information superhighway of the 21st century.

Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA). A nonpartisan and nonprofit research and educational organization which conducts scientific studies of news and entertainment media.

Center for Research on the Effects of Televisio Located at Ithaca College in Ithaca New York. CRETV has two components: an archive of television content and a research lab conducting studies of the content of television and its effectson viewers.

Center for Research on the Influences of Television on Children (CRITIC). CRITIC publishes scientific and scholarly articles related to research into how children interact with television.

The Center for the Study of Commercialism. The Center, established in 1990, aims to help set limits on commercialism and turn America to its founding values. Emphasis on research, publicize, and oppose the invasion of commercial interests into practically every corner of our society. Through public information campaigns, legislative and regulatory efforts, and direct advocacy, CSC helps immunize citizens against advertising's siege. Children and the Media. Designed to spearhead a new national commitment to improving the quality of media for and about children. This site serves as a gateway to sites and issues related to media literacy, television, and advertising.

Children Now. A nonpartisan policy and advocacy organization for children. Learn about children's issues and how to take action. Addresses many current issues related to children, youth, and media.This site has a Directory of Children's Issues on the World Wide Web" and lists over 250 links.

Children's Media Project. The Children's Media Project specializes in teacher training on both a technical and hands-on level. We train teachers to incorporate media production into New York state standards for curriculum, while also developing intensive programs in self-expression through the media arts for at-risk young people. CineMedia (Australia). Established at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia to provide individuals interested in the cinema and media a comprehensive access point to the growing resources available on the Internet. The CineMedia site contains over 6000 major links to other global sites (which are then linked to thousands of resources on the Net)

Citizens for Media Literacy. A non-profit, public-interest organization linking media literacy with the concepts and practices of citizenship. CML promotes citizens' responsibility for free speech rights; provides assistance to citizen activists and journalists on issues related to the Freedom of Information Act and Open Records laws; publishes media analysis and criticism; and promotes public access to the media environment, especially via cable TV, low-power FM

Community Media Workshop. A Chicago-based nonprofit organization that acts as a liaison between local organizations and the media. The first organization of this kind in the U.S. Holds public forums to discuss media issues.

The Computer Museum. Presents the past, present, and future of the information revolution, from mammoth vacuum-tube computers to state-of-the-art technology, through over 100 interactive exhibits, including a giant walk-through computer, displays, films and animation and other exhibits reflecting developments in interactive media.
